Judge Blue denies motion to move trial, rules Dr. Petit can testify about his family

The defense team also lost their attempts to have newspaper boxes removed from near the courthouse entrance and to limit the testimony of Dr. William Petit Jr.
Defense attorney Walter Bansley III told Superior Court Judge Jon C. Blue that the trial should be moved to Stamford because that judicial district is the state’s least-exposed area to publicity about the crime.
The trial begins Monday.
